Scottish Game Fair

The GWCT Scottish Game Fair has been held annually since 1988 attracting around 30,000 visitors over 3 days. It is the biggest countryside sports event in Scotland.

Cunningly Good Communications was appointed in 2019 and tasked with developing an integrated marketing campaign, within which public relations played a major role.

Highlights from the campaign include delivering 128 pieces of positive coverage including the successful sell-in of feature pieces to The Scotsman, Farming Scotland, Shooting Scotland, Country Lifestyle Magazine and Gamewise; several major features in Living Magazine, The Courier, Press & Journal, Scots Mag, as well as news coverage of the event in the run up to and on the weekend of the event as part of the management of the DC Thomson media partnership. 111 members of the press were accredited to attend the 2019 event and filming of the event took place for two episodes of BBC Farmers’ Country Showdown, as well as news coverage for STV News and BBC (national) news took place on site reaching an estimated national broadcast audience of over 6 million.

The campaign won SILVER at the CIPR Pride Awards (2021) for Best Integrated Campaign and was a finalist for Best Travel Leisure & Tourism Campaign.
